Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
MurderCapital, Friday 18 December 2009 - 17:11:45 // comment: 11

Sorry for the lack of updates, but there hasn't been any real LCN news in awhile, at least as far as I know, the official LCN website and MySpace are not much help either. If only the members of LCN could hire some kid that really cares to take care of their online business, like I don't know, someone in Europe that keeps shit underground for the moment. ;)

Updates here on this site:
- Discography added.
- Links to LCN lyrics.
- New poll.

With that being said, I want to wish all visitors happy holidays and a happy new year!

Cousin Of Death Music Video

The music video for "Cousin Of Death" has been released.

And then there was three...

As you may or may not know La Coka Nostra seem to always be on the road touring, and what you may or may not know is that the line up for the current and upcoming shows are down to only three original La Coka Nostra members. No, the group has not split up yet, however this is how it is:

1) DJ Lethal is in the studio with Limp Bizkit working on a new album
2) Slaine got a acting role in a upcoming Ben Affleck directed movie (Slaine has previously worked with Ben Affleck on the movie "Gone Baby Gone")
3) Big Left, as you all know is no longer part of the group, some statements from LCN hints at he had to choose between LCN and his family, and family goes first.

This leaves rappers Everlast and Ill Bill together with hypeman Danny Boy as LCN touring. Kinda shitty if you ask me, but I guess the show has to go on...

Quick May Updates
MurderCapital, Wednesday 20 May 2009 - 19:28:02 // comment: 15

Yeah, I know there haven't been any updates in over a month, but truth to be told there isn't much news coming in, at least not news worth posting since LCN is on tour and there is not a lot of talk on when the record will come out. However here are so quick news:

- DJ Lethal is right now on tour with Limp Bizkit in Europe, a interview with him can be seen here on the bottom of this news post.

- A new LCN track titled "Do It" is featured on the upcoming "Soul Assassins Intermission" album (by Cypress Hill DJ Muggs). You can download the song here

- And finally a new promo picture of the group (without Lethal) can be seen here.

Various Updates
MurderCapital, Wednesday 18 March 2009 - 14:36:34 // comment: 12

Here are some small updates that you might or might not know:

- La Coka Nosta is on a US tour right now called "Bring Tha Noize" tour with Kottonmouth Kings, Big B, Potluck and Blaze Ya Dead Homie. Go to the LCN MySpace for dates

- Rapper Big Left is apparently not longer a member of the group.

- The album "A Brand You Can Trust" has once again been pushed back (now to June 2009).

- LCN has a blog up and updates it frequently, however no real news.

Much props to Mihau and his Slaine site.

La Coka Nostra Signs With Suburban Noize Records!
MurderCapital, Friday 19 December 2008 - 14:07:39 // comment: 11

HipHopPress.com Writes:

La Coka Nostra have officially signed with Suburban Noize Records for the release of their upcoming debut "A Brand You Can Trust", which will be released through the label in early 2009. The group will embark on the Bring Tha Noize Tour alongside Kottonmouth Kings, Blaze Ya' Dead Homie, Big B, Potluck and Short Dawg beginning in late February through early April.

"It's official! La Coka Nostra has joined forces with Suburban Noize to bring you our debut album, 'A Brand You Can Trust'. We are very excited to be working with Kevin Zinger and the entire Sub Noize family and look forward to finally unleashing the LCN war machine upon the current candy-coated, watered-down and auto tuned-out musical landscape that popular rap music has become," says La Coka Nostra's ILL BILL aka the Cult Leader. "This record is a no holds barred burst of hardcore hip hop to the fullest, representing everything we love about this art form but feel is missing from the game right now. To show you we're not alone in our thinking we're bringing Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bun B, Psycho Realm, Immortal Technique & the Alchemist along for the ride. We know a lot of ya'll feel the same way we do, so we're using our voice to speak for those that may not have this opportunity. That's why La Coka Nostra is 'A Brand You Can Trust'. Album in stores first quarter 2009!"

Maybe once in a musical era's lifetime does a revolutionary collision occur at the four-way intersection of underground, old school, new, and mainstream. Such an anomaly has finally materialized within a hip-hop world that has – for all intent and purpose – otherwise been tapped out. Founded on a new breed of rappers, but further injecting the mix with iconic veterans of the game the result is LA COKA NOSTRA.

Composed of members Ill Bill, Slaine, Everlast, DannyBoy, Dj Lethal and Big Left, La Coka Nostra is a breath of fresh air in these days of contrived airbrushed rap music.

Check out LCN page at Suburban Noize Records here and the statement posted about it here
